FAQ
Can Ocean Flexible Coatings apply it for us?
Yes, you need to bring the boat to our approved application centre Ocean Art Ltd, where they will apply Ultraflex in a controlled environment.
The process for a 5-6 meter RIB takes around 3 days, longer on larger vessels. When you compare the costs to replace the tubes versus the cost of paint and application, Ultraflex is typically LESS than half the price.
For application costs please contact us.
How long does it last?
In the UK our conservative estimate is 5 years, however in the southern hemisphere where the UV is stronger like in the harsh maritime conditions of New Zealand, there are vessels that were painted in excess of 8 years ago that still look and perform like new.
Why should I use Ultraflex?
There are other tube paints on the market however they do not have the UV inhibiting properties, stain resistance and the easy clean functions of Ultraflex.
Ultraflex also has up to 25% expansion / elasticity in the coating. To our knowledge there is no comparable paint anywhere else in the world.
Is it stain resistant?
Before After Ultraflex has excellent resistance to a variety of chemicals, e.g. petrol, oil, diesel, soot/carbon particles from exhaust fumes, acid rain, grease, turpentine, thinners etc.
It also contains self-healing properties which reduces wear and tear and ensures the product protects the tubes for longer.
Will it stick to my Rib?
If your Rib is Hypalon or PVC then yes, the tubes will need to be prepared following the instructions included in the kit.
Ultraflex has a high adhesion capability, up to 3000 psi water blasting tested.
